Putting a gif on a colored background
Requested tutorial (:
Finished result:

So I was asked, “how do you extend a picture? like, how do you make a picture so big in just one color and then one of the boys in the corner, for example?” and I hope this is what you meant.
This type of graphic works best with a gif that has a white background. If it doesn’t have a white background, you’re going to have to paint around the gif with the color you want by using the paint tool. If someone wants I can do a tutorial on how to paint around the gif.
1. So first step, is to make your gif however you would like it / sharpen. Once you’ve done that, crop your gif so that it’s just the part you want. Now resize it so that the width is 500px or less because if it’s bigger it doesn’t look as clear. (I’m not even sure if you can upload a gif to Tumblr that is more than 500px wide.)
2. Now that you have your gif, go up to ‘Image’ and change the canvas size. Keep the width at 500px and change the height to however big you want it. I changed mine to 500px.

3. Now your gif is probably in the middle of a transparent background. I’m going to move mine to the bottom, but you can move yours wherever you want(: If you don’t know how to move it, highlight all of your frames at the bottom as well as your layers on the right and select the move tool. Then, click and drag the gif to your desired position.
4. Okay, since my gif background is white, I’m going to use the paint bucket tool to color the transparent background white as well.
5. Now, you can basically be done with your gif. I’m going to add a layer of color to blend with my gif, but first I’m going to make it black and white so that it blends a little better. After making it black and white, go down to the bottom bar under your layers and click the circle that’s half dark and half light. Then go up to “solid color” to add a solid color layer.

6. Choose the color you want the gif to be. Then add the layer. Your gif should just be one color at this point. Go over to your layers and double click the color fill layer and a window should pop up. Under ‘Gnereal Blending’ click the list. Now, you can go through all of the different blending options to see which looks best with your color and your gif. I’m choosing ‘Soft Light.’ You can also change the opacity of the color layer if you wish.

7. The final step would be to add any text / watermark or something else that you’d want to add, but other than that it’s finished(: to save it go to ‘File’ and ‘Save for Web & Devices.’
I hope this helped! If you have any questions, don’t be afraid to ask. I did this sort of fast so if anything is unclear, please let me know! Thanks!
